Steven P. Arnheim

Steven P. Arnheim represents clients in all aspects of patent prosecution and patent counseling, including drafting and prosecuting utility and design patent applications, preparing advisory opinions, product clearances, and licenses, conducting pre-litigation technical analyses and managing and valuing patent property portfolios. He possesses experience in a broad range of industries, including sports equipment, toys and games, consumer electronics, electrical connectors, mass spectrometers, thermal analysis instruments, telecommunications, biomedical devices and research equipment, aviation, construction, software, business methods, financial services products, insurance and e-commerce. Mr. Arnheim also holds specialized knowledge in business method patents and has contributed to several articles examining emerging areas of patent law and the impact of business method patents on the retail and financial services industries.
Mr. Arnheim received his J.D. degree, cum laude, from the University of Maryland School of Law and his Bachelor of Science and Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. Before practicing law, Mr. Arnheim was a project manager and engineer for a large general contractor where he managed projects involving municipal wastewater treatment, complex HVAC systems, toxicological processes and specialized laboratory applications. Before joining Plumsea, Mr. Arnheim was a senior attorney in the litigation department of Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP.
