Mark J. Guttag
Mr. Guttag has over 31 years of experience in all aspects of patent law, including patentability, validity and infringement opinions, procurement of domestic and foreign patents, and client counseling.
Mr. Guttag is a chemistry and biochemistry specialist, but also has extensive experience in writing applications for software processes, digital technology and mechanical devices.
Mr. Guttag has prepared and prosecuted patent applications for independent inventors, start-ups and established companies in a variety of fields including antimicrobial coatings, radiation dosimeters, lipid multilayer arrays, pharmaceuticals, materials science, lasers, transceivers, nanotechnology, chemical and mechanical holographic storage technology, digital display technology and data analysis systems.
Mr. Guttag received his J.D. degree from Marquette University Law School and his Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Carleton College. Before joining Plumsea, Mr. Guttag was a Senior Attorney at Alchemy-Partners, PC, an IP Boutique in Northern Virginia.
Mr. Guttag is a registered patent attorney and is admitted to practice in Maryland, the District of Columbia and Wisconsin (Inactive).
