Mr. Kuzara has extensive experience drafting and prosecuting United States patent applications in a variety of technical fields and managing the foreign prosecution of counterpart applications throughout the world. He also prosecutes United States design patent applications and conducts appeals before the Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences. Additionally, his practice includes counseling to render legal opinions on patentability, validity and infringement.
Mr. Kuzara earned his engineering degree from the University of Wyoming, where he concentrated on the thermodynamic and energy conversion aspects of mechanical engineering. Prior to entering law school, Mr. Kuzara obtained engineering design experience with a consulting engineering firm. He subsequently attended law school and upon graduation joined the Portland, Oregon office of Banner & Witcoff, Ltd., where he was a Shareholder.
Mr. Kuzara is an active member of the Oregon State Bar, participates in the Intellectual Property Section of the Oregon State Bar and is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association.
